The Graduate Funding Information Service 

This office in Allen Library provides help identifying resources for external funding (not UW funding) for admitted and current graduate students. Drop-In hours available on Mondays & Wednesday, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. or you can use their online databases anytime.

Anchor QEA Scholarship

To assist graduate students in the fields related to water resources, surface and groundwater quality, coastal development, habitat restoration, and contaminated sediment management.

Coastal Management Fellowship

Matching state coastal management programs with future coastal managers.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Post Graduate Fellowship Program

CHCI’s Post Graduate Fellowship Program is designed for exceptional emerging Latino leaders who want to immerse themselves in a specific public policy area. This paid, nine-month fellowship will provide you with valuable work experience, access to powerful Latino network, and a chance to showcase your public policy knowledge on Capitol Hill.

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program

Provides support for master’s and doctoral studies in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology, and all other science, engineering, social science, and resource management disciplines involving ocean and coastal areas particularly by women and members of minority groups.

Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute Summer Internship Program

A ten-week internship for educators, undergraduate, and graduate students that focuses on developing research techniques and improving communication and collaborative skills.

Presidential Management Fellowship

The PMF Program is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates. It was designed to develop a cadre of potential government leaders. It provides some sustenance during the first years of employment and encourages development of leadership capabilities. The PMF Program inculcates a lasting bond as well as a spirit of public service, ultimately encouraging and leading to a career in the government.

Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation

Provides academic scholarships to students in Oregon and Washington pursuing advanced studies in renewable energy innovations. Study areas may include biomass, geothermal, wind, solar, etc.

The Steven Berkeley Marine Conservation Scholarship

Award to support Masters or Ph.D. students pursuing thesis research on marine conservation.

The Marine Stewardship Council Scholarship Research Program

The MSC scholarship research program is a fund for students studying problems and solutions in sustainable fisheries and supply chains. MSC funds projects up to £5,000 each to cover travel, equipment and research costs. Undergraduate and postgraduate students worldwide are invited to apply. Deadline is typically in December each year.

The Next Swell Scholarship

The Next Swell was created in part for the purpose of providing financial academic scholarships to exceptional students pursuing research and/or a degree in a marine science or marine conservation focused area. We will be awarding multiple scholarships of $5,000 for the 2025-2026 academic year. Scholarships are merit-based and will be awarded to the most qualified applicants who display a passion for marine conservation. Deadline is March 15, 2025.

Western Division American Fisheries Society

Scholarships to masters or doctoral students in the general area of fisheries science.
