Research areas
Dr. Kristi Straus is an Associate Teaching Professor in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs and serves as an Associate Director of the Program on the Environment. She is the recipient of the 2017 University of Washington Distinguished Teaching Award. In the Program on the Environment, she teaches undergraduate courses in environmental studies, sustainability, research methods, and case study analysis. She also teaches a graduate course on best practices in environmental pedagogy. In the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs, she supervises graduate students’ research in environmental conservation, science education, and environmental communication.
